You don't seem smart enough to realize that a performance calibrated for a large Broadway theater, with a balcony yet, is very likely to look too busy and too broad when viewed in close-up by way of a video. The orchestra in that Fallon clip sounded a whole lot better than the orchestra in the theater. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happens in "People" as recorded by Streisand for the original cast album. That was a strange key change from intro to verse.
